Crofton Elementary School is hosting its annual ISEC/STEM Fair on Wednesday, March 14th. The faculty have requested adult volunteers to judge the students’ projects. You do not need to have a science, technology or engineering background to be a judge. Volunteers use a score card or rubric to evaluate the science projects. Volunteers may not judge the science projects for the same grade that they have a family member enrolled. Volunteers may include parents, legal guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other adult role models.
We have organized volunteer times into two-hour time slots, and ask for volunteers to sign up for one or more time slots — whatever your calendar will allow. Unfortunately, no under-school age children may accompany the volunteer during the judging. Simply sign-up then on the 14th, show up 15 minutes before your designated time at the main office, show your ID, and get a visitor pass. Then you are to report to the Science Lab and meet with either Ms. Dubina (5th grade teacher) or Ms. Poland (PTA program leader) for instructions. If you have any questions in advance of the judging day, please contact Ms. Dubina at email@example.com.
